We are the Stephen Bell Charitable Trust (SBCT), a registered charitable trust, no. 1135367. Our address is c/o The Old Gatehouse, 53 Netherhouse Road, Shaw, Greater Manchester OL2 7HY. SBCT is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. The following policies are only in effect to cover the work we do in awarding bursaries to music students.

We obtain information about you when you use our website, specifically in applying for one of our annual bursaries for postgraduate study.
What type of information is collected from you?
The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address; and financial information may also be requested to help Trustees decide the size of the bursaries we award

We may use your information to:
- process the application you have submitted;
- send you communications which you have requested;
- send you occasional communications regarding performance opportunities
- to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;
- notify you of changes to our services;
Who has access to your information?
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.

SBCT exercises every precaution to ensure the security of data transmissions from the user’s PC to our servers and stored information. Where sensitive information such as financial information is transmitted, it is done so using SSL encryption. Access to stored information is password protected and every attempt will be made to ensure that these passwords are only known to SBCT trustees and trusted third parties (eg. Internet Service Provider) who are authorised by us. Unfortunately, no data transmission or stored information is 100% secure. Thus, whilst SBCT strives to protect user’s information as far as possible, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that the user transmits to us.
What are cookies and how do we use them?
